Aadhaar Update Status
We don't query your Aadhaar — opens the UIDAI portal directly. Track via Update Reference Number (URN) for online updates or Service Request Number (SRN) for centre-based.
URN is on your update acknowledgement slip — both online and centre-based.
Typical update timeline
- Demographic update (online): 7-30 days
- Demographic update (centre): 7-15 days
- Biometric update: 15-30 days
- Mobile / email: 24-48 hours
How it works
When you submit an Aadhaar update — online via myAadhaar or in person at a UIDAI Seva Kendra — the system issues a tracking number. Online demographic updates produce a 14-digit URN; centre-based updates print a 28-digit Service Request Number (SRN) on the acknowledgement slip. Both can be tracked at uidai.gov.in; we simply jump you to the right tracker URL without storing your number.
Worked example
You updated your address online on 5 May 2026 using a rental agreement and got URN 0000/00045/12345. Status moves from “Update Request Received” to “Under Process” within 24 hours, then to “Update Complete” typically in 7-30 days. Address and name updates take the longest; mobile and email linking are nearly instant.
When to use this
- Tracking a recent address or name change before a passport or PAN application
- Verifying that the free address update (open till 14 June 2026) has been processed
- Confirming biometric update for a child crossing 5 or 15 years (mandatory BUCC)
