ITR-V Reader
Upload your ITR-V acknowledgement PDF to extract the key fields: acknowledgement number, assessment year, ITR type filed, gross total income, deductions, total tax, and refund / payable status.
🔒 Your PDF never leaves the browser. All parsing happens locally on your device.
What is ITR-V?
ITR-V (V for Verification) is the one-page acknowledgement summary the income tax e-filing portal generates after you submit your return. It carries the acknowledgement number, your PAN, the AY, your declared income / tax / refund, and a barcode. If you used Aadhaar OTP or net-banking EVC to verify, the ITR-V is just for your records. If you did not e-verify, you must send a signed ITR-V to CPC Bengaluru within 30 days, or the return becomes invalid.
Why parse it at all?
Banks routinely ask for ITR-V when you apply for a home loan, car loan, education loan or visa. Loan officers want to confirm the acknowledgement number, AY filed, and gross total income shown — not your full ITR. Extracting these four fields manually from a dense one-pager takes a minute; this tool does it in under a second and lets you copy the values straight into a loan application or a CA WhatsApp message.
ITR-V vs ITR-V Acknowledgement vs Form 26AS
- ITR-V — the post-filing acknowledgement. One page, has the barcode and ack number. Required for visa, loan and KYC.
- Form 26AS — your tax credit statement, showing TDS deducted and advance tax paid. Different document, from TRACES. Use the Form 26AS reader for that.
- AIS / TIS — the Annual Information Statement, a broader view including SFT (high-value transactions). Not the same as either of the above.
Where to download ITR-V
Log in at incometax.gov.in → e-File → Income Tax Returns → View Filed Returns. Click Download Form next to the AY you want. The downloaded PDF is password protected — the password is your PAN in lowercase followed by date of birth in DDMMYYYY format (no spaces). This tool will prompt for the password if the PDF is encrypted.
Privacy guarantee
ITR-V contains your full name, PAN, address and income. We never upload the PDF — all parsing happens via pdf.js running inside your browser. Once you close the tab, the file is gone. If you need a more permanent confidential location, save a copy to DigiLocker (an offering of the Government of India).
FAQ
Do I still need to send ITR-V by post?
Only if you e-verified using a method other than Aadhaar OTP, net-banking EVC, DSC, bank-ATM EVC, or demat-account EVC. If you e-verified online, ITR-V is just for your records — no postal copy needed.
How long do I have to e-verify ITR-V?
30 days from the date of filing the return (post the August 2022 change — earlier it was 120 days). Miss the deadline and your ITR is treated as not filed; you have to refile (often with penalty).
Where do I send the signed ITR-V?
Centralized Processing Center, Income Tax Department, Bengaluru — 560 500. Send via ordinary post or speed post only (no courier, no registered post). Sign in blue ink in the box at the bottom; do not staple.
I lost my ITR-V — can I download it again?
Yes. Log into the income-tax e-filing portal → e-File → Income Tax Returns → View Filed Returns → click the relevant AY → Download Form. Password: PAN in lowercase + DOB in DDMMYYYY.
My ITR-V shows refund but I haven't received it — why?
Refund is processed only after CPC processes the return (separate from ITR-V acknowledgement). Track at incometax.gov.in → Refund Status. Typical: 20–45 days after e-verification. If pending > 60 days, raise a grievance.
