On what stamp paper should I print this affidavit?
State-dependent. Common: ₹10 in Maharashtra, ₹20 in Karnataka, ₹50 in Tamil Nadu. For minor declarations (name change, address proof) the standard ₹20 non-judicial stamp paper works in most states. Notary fee: ~₹100-200.
Is a typed affidavit legal?
Yes — typing on stamp paper, signing in front of a notary public is the standard. Handwritten works too but is less common. Always notarised for legal validity.
Can I use this affidavit for passport application?
For minor purposes (address proof, gap year, parents' consent) yes. For specific PSK requirements (e.g. name change due to marriage), use the format the regional Passport Office prescribes.
