FAQ

Is a quotation legally binding?

On its own, no — it is an offer to supply at the stated price within the stated validity. It becomes binding only when the buyer accepts and a contract or PO is issued.

Should a quotation include GST?

Yes if you are GST-registered. Show line totals, the GST rate (typically 18%) and the final amount. State whether prices are inclusive or exclusive of GST.

How long should a quote be valid?

15-30 days is common in India. For commodity items where prices fluctuate (steel, paper, fuel), keep it 7-14 days. Always print the expiry date so there is no dispute later.
