Vastu — religious or scientific?
Roots in ancient Hindu architecture. Some principles align with practical design (south-west bedroom = away from morning sun). Scientific evidence is weak; cultural significance is strong.
Can't change my house — what now?
Mitigation: mirrors, plants, color changes, copper / brass / yantra placement. Pandits offer parihara puja for severe Vastu defects. Don't panic — Vastu is one input, not the only one.
Buying a flat — must I check Vastu?
Personal preference. Many Indians do, many don't. If you do, check before signing the BBA — it's harder to back out later.
